International Goodwill Evening
The first Sakai International Goodwill Evening was held in 1984, inviting exchange students and other international residents with the goal of international exchange.
We hold a customary raffle, thanks to support from our corporate members, who donate goods, and the whole assembly comes together in excitement, to see who wins!
In 2003, on the occasion of the 20th Goodwill evening, the event was re-imagined as a “Friendship Evening”.
Following the establishment of the Sakai Sister and Friendship City Council on October 17, 2005, from 2006 onward the event was incorporated into the council’s “International Get-together”.
Together with the Sakai Japan-China Amity Association and the Sakai-Wellington Association as well, we hope to make this event an even more fun opportunity to interact with Sakai’s international community, so we’d love for you to get involved!
